You have two options about your travelling to visit our center Options to plan your trip to our center:
First Visit (duration 1-2 days)
The first step is the orientation by our International Patients Department (IPD) physician and signing the IVF and egg donation consents. You can either undergo required pre-treatment tests for you and your partner back home or here in our medical center. Following the initial consultation with our infertility specialists, and after a thorough examination and evaluation of your uterus, an individual preparation protocol will be determined. Sperm can also be collected, analysed and frozen. If the count and quality is at a level to our satisfaction, we will then proceed with the procedure. For the rest of the procedure, the presence of your spouse is no longer necessary and he can leave soon after.
You will get the prescription for the medicine (including supplementary vitamins and hormones) and a preparation protocol will be explained to you. If you want you may return home at this stage as well.
Donor selection
Our IVF coordinator from the donation section will run the matching process to find the proper donor for you. Donors are screened and selected based on extremely strict medical criteria, and also according to your priorities, physical characteristics (phenotypes), race and religion as closely as possible.
Stimulation of Your Donor
Your donor will be stimulated; it means "pumping up" the ovaries to make sufficient follicles and eggs. Around day 15 of the stimulation, the egg retrieval from her ovaries will take place. On the same day, fresh or frozen sperm sample of your husband will be prepared for fertilization. The cultivation of embryos lasts 3-5 days. Cultured embryos will be frozen for being transferred to the recipient at appropriate time. The whole process might take 1-2 months (we can work around your schedule and time plan by request.)
Second Visit (approximately 10 day)
Although the presence of your spouse in the second trip is not necessary, we recommend someone accompanies you at this stage.
Your Preparation
The preparation of the endometrium for embryo transfer starts on the 2nd day of your period (day 2 of the cycle). You can start taking the uterus preparing medication in your hometown according to the plan given to you by our medical team. In this case, you will be asked to be in our clinic on day 10 of your cycle. During your preparation cycle you will have serial vaginal ultrasounds to check on the uterus lining and thickness.
Embryo Transfer
Around day 20 of your cycle (counting from the first day of your period), the embryo transfer is completed. Currently 1-3 embryos are transferred in one attempt. The decision of the number of embryos to be transferred is made by our gynecologists and the embryologists.
24-48 hours after the transfer you can return to your country of residence.
14 days after the embryo transfer, you will take a pregnancy test. If the test is positive, please continue taking prescribed medications until the week 10 of your pregnancy. If the pregnancy test is negative, immediately discontinue taking prescribed medications.
The male partner’s stay in Sari can be reduced to only 3-4 days.
